Awareness, Acceptability, and Receptivity of Females “Swacch Bharat’s Toilet Drive: A Cross-Sectional Evaluation

Abstract


India is among the top countries with approx. 546 million defecating in open and with highest diarrheal and oro-fecal infectious diseases. Currently, 1 in 7 people, practice open defecation, of those who do, 90% of them reside in rural areas. India ranks 22nd amongst the countries with worst sanitation conditions globally. Thus, Government of India in 2014 initiated a new mission called as “Swacch Bharat Abhiyan” (SBA) and its “Toilet Drive” (SBATD) aiming to make Clean India by 2019.
